Being a coach for a living involves a lifelong commitment to improving oneself.

The moment a coach stops working on him or herself, there goes their ability to help others—especially if they want to make a lasting impact on the people they work with.

We must practice what we preach 24/7. It is unrealistic for us to be “our best” all the time, but the process of doing, practicing, and evolving each day is necessary.

It can be easy to stop working on yourself—especially when you spend so much of your waking hours helping others become their best selves. But we do this because we care, this is our purpose, and we love our role.

Celebrating the small wins in others when they stay committed to the process is what fuels a coach’s passion. It reminds them that their purpose is important and inspires them to continue working on themselves.

A coach’s work never stops. Even when they are “off,” it is hard to turn off the mindset needed to carry on with their work.

A coach must lead by example in everything they do. They must practice empathy and compassion for themselves because, although we may want to be this perfect being, perfection is impossible.

There is extreme value in imperfection—because at the end of the day, we are all just human beings trying to make the most out of what the superior being has handed to us.
