🌹 The Rose and the Thorn: A Reflection on Growth & Purpose
I believe this world is full of roses that bloom in most seasons, and thorns that pierce you in others. Both are necessary, because without one, we would not feel the other. Life has a funny way of working itself out. It is hard, because we as people are supposed to read what the world is signaling — but sometimes, it is difficult to comprehend.
One thing I know for certain is that we are here to love one another and experience joy together. I mean as people in communities who support and inspire one another to do better, and create connected bonds within the universe. These bonds are strong enough to tackle world problems, hardship, and grief.
It is challenging to find these sorts of connections sometimes — ones where everyone has a common goal, which is to be better than yesterday. That is my quest in this world. I believe a man gains the most immense amount of motivation when his work is being dedicated to the ones he cares for the most. This gives him superhuman power to continue on his path, no matter how impossible it seems — creating possibilities that once felt out of reach.
Our purpose is the reason we were brought here — to use that purpose to do great things and have a positive influence on the ones we see. I have had the privilege of meeting many types of people, both men and women. Through my experiences, I have witnessed that we are all uniquely beautiful. Each one of us has passions, commitments, and values. All stem from a similar place, but are seen as so different — as if we were just a gigantic flower garden.
The roads all lead in different directions. Some are easier than others, while some may lead to more difficult decisions and experiences. But that is why we are here. We are pawns in the game of life, being guided by some sort of superior being… maybe. We must believe this being loves us and is going to steer us in the right direction. Although it is impossible to know for certain — that is what we call having faith.
